BMW M3 Touring 2024

On June 1, 2023, SMC Asia Cars Distributors Corp, the local distributor of BMW, officially introduced the 3 Series Touring in the Philippines which included the M3 Touring Competition xDrive. This release includes two versions based on the G21 and G81 generations of the 3 Series and the M3, respectively. The 3 Series Touring is available in three distinct variants: the 318i Touring, the M340i Touring xDrive, and the M3 Competition xDrive Touring.

BMW launched these vehicles with the following introductory prices. The 318i Touring had a launch price of P3,890,000 while the M340i Touring xDrive came with a price tag of P5,890,000. Finally, positioned at the top of the price spectrum, is the M3 Competition xDrive Touring. delivers extraordinary power and precision, available with a launch price of P10,490,000.

The monster under the M3 Competition is a highly-enhanced version of BMW’s S58 engine. This S58 engine is equipped with M TwinPower Turbo technology and is specifically engineered for the Competition models within the BMW M3/M4 lineup. It delivers an impressive maximum output of 510 hp and a gargantuan peak torque of 650 Nm, ensuring exceptional performance. Designed to withstand the rigorous demands of high-speed track driving, its cooling and oil supply systems are meticulously engineered to handle extreme longitudinal and lateral forces. Moreover, the M-specific exhaust system features electrically controlled flaps, creating a captivating and emotionally stirring soundtrack that adds an extra dimension to the overall performance experience.

In addition to the M3 Touring’s powerful engine, it also features a meticulously fine-tuned chassis that strikes a balance between performance and comfort. Equipped with adaptive M suspension, M Servotronic steering, and an integrated braking system, the M3 Touring offers a focused driving experience. The car features striking red high-gloss M Compound brakes and standard forged M light-alloy wheels 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. The Dynamic Stability Control system incorporates wheel slip limitation, providing enhanced safety and control. Additionally, the car offers the M Dynamic Mode and M Traction Control features. In two-wheel drive mode, the driver has the ability to adjust the wheel slip limitation, enabling precise handling during intense cornering on the track.

The new M3 Touring showcases BMW's advanced Live Cockpit Plus system, comprising a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Powered by iDrive OS 8.0, this comprehensive system seamlessly manages various aspects of the vehicle, including satellite navigation, entertainment, and the three-zone automatic climate control.

Inside the M3 Touring, passengers will find a host of additional features to enhance their driving experience. These include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity for seamless device integration, multiple USB-C charging ports, and 12V power sockets for added convenience. The leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel offers a touch of luxury, while the power-adjustable front seats provide personalized comfort. Like the rest of the vehicles in the 3 Series Touring line, the M3 Touring also boasts a power tailgate and versatile 40:20:40 split-rear seats to accommodate varying storage needs.

At the front, the M3 Touring features the bold and prominent grille found in the M3 and M4, accentuated by an aggressive mesh pattern and flanked by sleek LED headlights. The M-design side skirts contribute to the car's lowered stance and enhance its visual appeal. The presence of flared wheel arches accommodates larger wheels and emphasizes the vehicle's dynamic capabilities.

The rear of the M3 Touring is marked by distinctive M-specific elements, including a rear spoiler that aids in aerodynamic performance. The quad exhaust outlets are a signature feature, as well as the rear diffuser, which serves to provide both performance and add a bit of extravagance and excess to the M3 Touring’s design as well.
